Susan Jones

Susan "Sue" Jones, age 71, of Ithaca, Michigan passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 at Mid Michigan Medical Center, Midland, Michigan of a head injury due to a fall.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Monday, January 5, 2014 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor George Showers officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Susan was born in North Star, Michigan on July 21, 1943, the daughter of Harold and Elouise (Reeb) Thayer. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1961. She was a former nanny in Midland for the family of David Camp. Sue then moved to Pennsylvania, working in a home for handicap children. She went on to work for Sears, as a security guard, and then for Johnson and Johnson Corporation. When she moved back to Michigan she worked for the Mid Michigan Medical - Gratiot as a Volunteer.

She is survived by her sister Mary Helen McDaid of Ithaca, MI, brother Wally and Marie Thayer of Desert Hot Springs, California, nieces and nephews; Gary and Marty McDaid of Ithaca, MI, Jim and Marcia McDaid of Sumner, MI, Kathy Densmore of Ithaca, MI, Larry and Mary Jo McDaid of Paw Paw, MI, Steven and Vickie Thayer of Oregon, Connie Cousino of California, Jerry and Angelita Thayer of Washington, and many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Sue left behind a special friend, Max Mills, of Ithaca, MI. She was predeceased by her parents and brother in law Murl McDaid.
