Susan Rae Simpson, age 59, of Henderson, MI passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at University Hospitals, Ann Arbor, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Owosso, MI on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Calvin Long & Rev. Robert Tibbits officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Rush Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 15, 2012 from 5-8 P.M. and on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI.
Susan was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 15, 1952, the daughter of Ray and Norma (Moore) Babcock. She resided all of her life in Shiawassee County and was an Ovid-Elsie High School Graduate. Susan and Steve were married in 1974 at Burton United Methodist Church. Susan was employed by Consumers Energy for 37 years. She loved gardening & crafts but most importantly she loved her family & her pets. Susan was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Owosso where she sang in the choir for many years.
She is survived by her husband Steve Simpson of Henderson, MI, son Christopher and Jessica Simpson of Traverse City, MI, daughter Kathryn Simpson and Dylan Smythe of Lansing, MI, granddaughter Sophia Grace Simpson, parents Ray and Norma Babcock of Henderson, MI, brother Kim Babcock of Roselle, IL, mother-in-law Delores Simpson of Ovid, MI, sister-in-law Tracey Simpson of Ovid, MI. Susan was preceded in death by her father-in-law Charles Lee Simpson.
