Suzanne "Suzy" M. Gray, age 82, of Ithaca, Michigan died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Woodland Hospice House, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca Chapel, Ithaca, Michigan on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. with Mrs. Jo Jones officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
Suzy was born in Saginaw, Michigan on February 8, 1930, the daughter of Cecil K. and Florence M. (Williams) Marr. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a teaching degree. On March 17, 1956 she married William Gray in Angola, Indiana. She resided in New York, and Flint before moving to Ithaca in her retirement.
In her younger years Suzy taught school at the New York School For the Blind. When she moved to Michigan she went to work for AC Spark Plug in Flint where she met her husband Bill. She also taught brail to elementary children. Suzy enjoyed singing, knitting and sitting by water to listen to its motion. She played keyboard at several nursing homes with her husband Bill and made peanut butter cookies.
She is survived by her husband Bill of Ithaca, MI, 3 brothers; James Marr of St. Louis, MI, Cecil K Marr of Dewitt, MI, Richard Marr of California, and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, 10 brothers & sisters.
