Talan Lee Jones

     Talan Lee Jones, age 18, of Elsie, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 14, 2024.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, June 21, 2024. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 1:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home. Following the Services for Talan there will be a luncheon held at the Elsie VFW and a Jones Family Gathering held at the home of Roger Jones. 

     Talan was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 13, 2006. He was a graduate of Ovid-Elsie High School with the Class of 2024.

     Talan just received his Life Guard Certification and was working at the YMCA. He had started taking classes at LCC in January. Talan will be remembered for his strong spirit, biggest heart, and personality. People were always attracted to him and he just wanted the best for everyone. He had a love of music. Talan was a wonderful big brother and had so much love for his family. He had a strong love for animals, he worked at Peacock Tree Farm where he had a favorite cow, he also loved his dog, Max. 

     He is survived by his mother Samantha and Jeremy Martin of Elsie, MI; father Matthew Jones and Rebecca Moore of Owosso, MI; sister Sophia Jones; sister Natalie Martin; grandparents: Rick and Julie Adams of Laingsburg, MI; Roger Jones of Owosso, MI; Theresa Jones and Terry Keiffer of Carson City, MI; Rex and Kimberly Martin of Owosso, MI. great-grandmother Sharon Taylor. Talan is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Talan was preceded in death by his grandfather David Phillips, his grandmother Robin Harnick (Rademacher), great-grandfather Robert Taylor, great-grandmother Joyce Adams, also his great-grandfather Douglas Adams.
