Terry McCormick

Terry Curland McCormick, age 70, of Riverdale, MI died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids, MI.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI. A Graveside Service at Chapel Gardens will be held at a later date.

Terry was born in Alma, Michigan on July 12, 1942, the son of Curlin Frances and Margaret Marie (Thomas) McCormick. He graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1961. He was a lifelong resident of Gratiot County. Terry was a local mechanic for 49 years, owning and operating T&M Auto Service in Alma and worked for Rowley & Church of St. Louis. Terry bowled on a league at 300 Bowl for many years, played fast pitched softball, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren show their animals at the fair. He also liked watching Detroit Tigers and tractor pulls. Terry was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church Alma, MI.

He is survived by his mother Margaret McCormick of Alma, MI, son Scott McCormick of St. Louis, MI, 3 daughters; Kristine and Al Staskus of Bellevue, MI, Jill McCormick and Bert Lake of Alma, MI, Audra and Joe Sherwood of St. Louis, MI, companion Betty Brown of Riverdale, MI and her children; Tim and Susan Brown of Lutz, FL, Bud Brown of Tampa, FL, and Sami and Tobby Cowdrey of Alma, MI, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 sister and 6 brothers. He was preceded in death by his father, and a grandson.
