Thelma Gee

Thelma Jean Gee, age 95, of Elwell, MI, peacefully entered into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 14, 2021, with Pastor Carl Cecil officiating.  Burial will follow at Pritchard Cemetery, Elwell, MI. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00 A.M.at the funeral home.

Thelma was born in Elwell, Michigan on March 2, 1926, the daughter of Hugh and Goldie (Northrup) Wyeth.  She attended Mallory Elementary School and Alma Public Schools.  On September 30, 1944, Thelma married William B. Gee in Lansing, MI.  They were blessed with nearly 50 years of marriage prior to his death on February 25, 1994.

Thelma's life revolved around her family.  She loved to sew and made many quilts for the family graduates and new babies.  She always looked forward to holidays and preparing a feast for her family and anyone else who needed a place to go.  Her family loved her pies, noodles, and fried chicken.

Thelma enjoyed going to Ludington vacationing with her daughters.  She liked to go mushrooming and driving around sightseeing.  She was a loving mother and will be greatly missed.  Thelma was a hard worker and spent many years caring for others in Home Health Care.  She also donated many quilts to benefit others in need.

Thelma is survived by 7 children: Linda Swartout of Wayland, MI, Marta Brush of St. Louis, MI, Tina (Donald) Vroman of Saranac, MI, Jennie (Jim) Storie of California, Bobbi Shaull of Elwell, MI, William (Michelle) Gee of Elwell, MI, and Kimberly (John) Clark of Elwell, MI. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, twin sister Velma Pyle, two sisters: Goldie Kanine and Marlene Rothlesberger, one brother Keith (Linda) Wyeth, special nieces: Deanna Mercer, Nancy Hetherington, and Stephanie Kanine; and special friend Jane Fairchild.  Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, 4 sons-in-law: Gary Johnson, Bob Swartout, Darryl Sheldon, and Gerald Brush; 2 grandsons: Aaron Gee and Mark Johnson; 7 siblings: Charles Wyeth, Shirley Greenhoe, Eljay Wyeth, Walter Wyeth, Eleanor Humphrey, June Hetherington, and Lylah Howell
