Thelma Marie Kridner age 94 of Elsie, Michigan died on Monday, November 19, 2007 at Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, MI.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Elsie United Methodist Church, Elsie, MI. Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Thelma was born on December 4, 1912 to Earl and Ada ( Smith ) Peterson in Elsie, Michigan. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1930, from Clinton County Normal in 1931 and from Central Michigan University in 1966. Thelma married Charles J. Kridner on June 1, 1935 in Rochester Colony. He preceded her in death in on May 29, 2002. She was a member of the Elsie United Methodist Church, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the United Methodist Women, Extension, Farm Bureau, Historical Society and Eastern Star. She taught school, helped on the dairy farm and was a homemaker. She was a 4-H leader for many years. Thelma enjoyed her family, gardening, traveling, and her church activities.
She is survived by 3 daughters; Nancy & Floyd Koerner, Audrey & Carter Crompton and Charlene Austin. Grandchildren; Floyd & Lisa Koerner, Dawn & Alan Stroup, George & Michelle Koerner, Katie Birmingham, Carter & Jennifer Crompton, Susan Rafferty, Amy & Bob Morton, Allison & Doug Smith, Theresa Austin, and Carmelita & Sean Gordon, great grandchildren; Christopher, Amy & Tracey Koerner, Caleb, Sarah, and Hannah Stroup, Jason ( Lindsey ) Koerner, Scott Koerner, Shanon ( Matt ) Aymor, Emily & Kyle Birmingham, Carter III & Seth Crompton, Parker Jane & Brooks Rafferty, Alexis, Logan, & Madison Morton, Mason, Chase & Jacob Smith, Joshua & Justin Cross, William & Austin Gordon, great great grandchildren; Danielle & Gracie Koerner and Jaden Aymor, brothers; Lawrence Peterson, Floyd & Mary Peterson and sister-in-law Doreen Kridner. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Charles, son Charles Duane, great granddaughters; Lindsay Koerner and Victoria Gordon, brother Paul, and son-in-law Wayne Austin.
Memorials may be made to the Elsie United Methodist Church, Elsie, Michigan. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
