Theresa Sefl, age 87, of Ashley, Michigan died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Ashley Care Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, Michigan on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:00 A.M., Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 2-8 p.m. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday evening.

Theresa was born in Ashley, Michigan on April 3, 1923, the daughter of Stephen and Victoria (Gomber) Slamka. On January 27, 1945 she married Frank Sefl in Bannister, Michigan. Frank died on August 14, 2007. Theresa had worked at Redmonds for 4 years and work on the family farm with her husband. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and watching the Detroit Tigers. She was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge #225 in Bannister and the VFW Auxiliary. She resided most of her life in Ashley, Michigan. Theresa was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, Michigan and was a member of the Altar Society.

She is survived by her son Frank and Terry Sefl Jr. of Ashley, MI, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Margaret Guyski, Stasa Krcmarik, and Allie and Joe Fabus, and 1 brother Tony and Ann Marie Slamka. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Frank, daughter Marcie Fabus in 1999, and a brother Steve.
