Theron Jessup

Theron Eugene Jessup, age 85, of St. Louis passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Schnepp Healthcare Center in St. Louis, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, with Mr. Keith Wise officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Garden Cemetery, Seville Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Theron Eugene Jessup was born on October 31, 1928 to Helen (Hoag) and Nelson Jessup in Butler Township, Michigan. His family moved to Ithaca and then North Star where he went to school through the 8th grade. He later attended St. Louis School. Theron worked at the Redmond Trailer Plant and Michigan Chemical Co. He later worked for Central Transport, owning his own truck for 20 years.

Theron married Lettie Petro on June 29, 1946. They had 4 children, Cheryl and Howard Fisher, Robert and Judy Jessup, Kenneth, and Brian and Tammy Jessup. They also had 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons; Kenneth and Brian & Tammy Jessup 5 brothers; Ian, Irwin, Nelson, Ronald, Gail, half brother Stanley Jessup, and half sister Marie Wheeler.

Theron was a member of the St. Louis Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing specials. He also enjoyed going to Tony's for men's breakfast. He liked talking and visiting. Theron was a great husband and father.
