Thomas M. Conklin, age 66, of Bannister, MI passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM, Mr. John Kirby will officiate. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel, Elsie.

Thomas was born in Elsie, Michigan on February 19, 1942, the son Claude and Ruth (Waggoner) Conklin. Thomas married Barbara LaClair on June 17, 1967 in Ovid, MI. He resided most of his life in Else & Bannister. Thomas retired from AO Smith of Owosso after 38 years of service. He loved watching television & bird watching. Having coffee with friends in town every morning was very important to him. Thomas especially enjoyed spending time and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Conklin of Bannister, MI, son Stacy Don Conklin of Bannister, MI, daughter Tammy Sue and David Viglianco of Edmore, MI, son Thomas J. Conklin and Coti Betz of Bannister, MI, 6 grandchildren; Devin Conklin, Victoria Conklin, Shayn Viglianco, Mackenzie Viglianco, Tristan Viglianco & Austin James Betz; brother Norm and Joyce Conklin of Plymouth, NC, brother Dick and Nancy Conklin of Elsie, MI, sister Shirley and Gerald Cannon of Ovid, MI, brother Stuart and Susan Conklin of Charlotte, MI and several nieces & nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to Saginaw County Hospice.
