Thomas Edward (Tom) Fisher, 78, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, Michigan.
Per Tom's request, a cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life and memory will be held at a later date.
Thomas was born in Ashley, Michigan on August 10, 1939, the son John and Maebell (Rhynard) Fisher. He attended Ashley Public Schools. Tom served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from General Motors. Tom lived in the Ashley area most of his life. In 1963 he married Jean Olivia, the mother of his children and the love of his life.
Tom found great enjoyment in searching for treasures at area flea markets and auctions. His pride and joy were his dogs, Dakota and Oliver. Tom loved gardening. He was a certified small engine mechanic and always enjoyed his "projects".
Tom is survived by three daughters: Terri Fisher of Lansing, Sonja (Jeremy) Potter of Bannister, and Shawn (Bobby) Seelhoff of Ovid; 8 Grandchildren: Nathan (Jacquie) Fisher, Dustin Fisher, Heath Seelhoff, Heather Seelhoff, Holly Seelhoff, Samantha Shindorf, Alysia Potter and Cassie Shindorf; 7 Great Grandchildren: MJ, Kainen, Jayden, Gracen, Mary Jane, Kylah, and Colton. He is also survived by 3 sisters: Lillian Hoisington, Helen (Cecil) Bowers, and Linda (Tom) Comis; and many close family and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents John and Maebell Fisher, siblings: Harry Fisher, Lorna Jean Good, and Frances Custard; and the mother of his children Jean Olivia.
