Thomas Turner

Thomas Max Turner of Ithaca, MI passed away at his home surrounded by his family and friends Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at the age of 72.

Funeral Services for Tom will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11:30 A.M. with Pastor Randy Brandon officiating. Burial will take place following the service at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be on Friday beginning at 9:30 A.M. until time of services.

Tom was born March 14, 1947 in Alma, MI the son of Max and Barbara (Patterson) Turner. He graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1965. On September 21, 1991 Tom married Charyl Mesmer Houck.

In his younger days, Tom raised cattle.  He worked for General Motors in Lansing for 28 1/2 years, retiring in 2006.

Tom was a member of the A-tractive Tractor Club of Ithaca. He enjoyed pulling tractors and his favorite ones were the International Farmall M.  Tom faithfully attended the Tuesday morning coffee club at McDonalds.

Tom is survived by his wife Charyl of Ithaca, step son Jeffery Houck of Ionia, brother Jon Turner of Harrison, and sister Lori Turner of Grand Rapids. Tom also is survived by his adopted family Alan and Kristie Jones and their children: Nik and Heidi.  Tom was preceded in death by his father Max Turner and mother Barbara Walters.
