Vickie Mills

Vickie Lynn (Schooler) Mills age 69 of Alma, Michigan passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Louis Church of the Nazarene Church, St. Louis, MI on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Glen Joseph and Pastor Craig Hollenbeck officiating.  Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI.

Vickie was born in Ithaca, Michigan on January 20, 1947, the daughter of Robert Burr and Joyce Marie (Loomis) Barton.  Vickie married Ernie Joe Mills; he passed away on November 1, 1997.  She resided most of her life in Gratiot County and Indianapolis.

Vickie was an active member of The Cornerstone of Life Church in Alma and enjoyed attending camp meetings with her church family.  She loved to cook and crochet. Having coffee with friends and family also brought her great joy.  She enjoyed going to the movies with her daughters and grandchildren.  Visits from children always brightened her day.  Vickie will be remembered for her kind and giving heart and faith in God.

She is survived by her daughters; Karren Loomis of St. Louis, MI, and Stacy and Chris McCann of St. Louis, MI, 5 grandchildren; Breanna and Mackenzie VanHorn, Brandon, Rebecca and Ambrietta McCann, and sister Cynthia Compton of St. Louis, MI.  Vickie is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews and 20 great-nieces and nephews.  Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother Randy Schooler.
