Victor Lotycz, age 79, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Victor was born in Norder, Germany on April 11, 1945, the son of Mikolaj and Tatjana (Kononenko) Lotycz. He was a graduate of Everett High School in Lansing, MI. On June 28, 1969, he married the love of his life, Carol Heers in Rensselaer, IN.
Victor's family was his greatest joy. Spending time with his family, especially on holidays, birthdays and special occasions was very dear to him. He will forever be remembered for his devotion and dedication to his work. He truly loved his job as a Court Officer. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Meeting people and socializing was definitely a high point in his day. Victor honorably served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. Victor was very proud of his heritage and his family name is on the Wall of Honor at Ellis Island.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Lotycz of St. Johns, MI; daughter Rebecca and Jody Post of St. Johns, MI; son Nicholas and Misty Lotycz of St. Johns, MI; 5 grandchildren: Kody Stockwell, Shelby and Cole Weber, Ella Post, Anthony Post, and Chloe Lotycz; brother Peter Lotycz of Lansing, MI. Victor was preceded in death by his father, Mikolaj Lotycz and mother, Tatjana Pedenko.
