Viola I. Fenton, age 100, of St. Louis, MI died Monday, October 13, 2008 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM, Rev. James Adams will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Viola was born in Breckenridge, Michigan on July 11, 1908, the daughter of William Sawvel and Almina (Minnie) Loretta (Wise). Viola married Ralph Fenton on October 6, 1928. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2005. Viola was a lifelong resident of St. Louis. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crosswords, embroidery, sewing, and crocheting.
She is survived by 3 daughters; Dolores Ennes of Indian River, MI, Norma Odem of Alma, MI, and Virginia Davis of Alma, MI, 13 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 22 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Richard Lee Barnum, great granddaughter Deborah Sue Kretzschmar, 2 sisters; Lottie Thompson and Lelea Hughes, and 1 brother Arthur Sawvel.
