Viola Kathryn “Vi” Martin, age 92, of Alma, MI, entered into the arms of her Savior, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Masonic Pathways.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 12:00 P.M., with Jim Amstutz officiating. Burial will follow at Fritz Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Viola was born in Byrdstown, TN on June 9, 1929, the daughter of James Dewey and Susan Lucille (Amonett) Pyles. She graduated from Cookeville High School, Cookeville, TN, with the class of 1946.
Vi worked as a bookkeeper for A&P in Warren, MI for 25 years until her retirement in 1983. After retirement, she moved to Alma and attended East Superior Christian Church. She loved gardening; she had a green thumb and enjoyed growing flowers, especially roses. She was a very talented seamstress and southern cook who especially loved country music. Her most favorite thing to do was spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was very proud of her Tennessee roots.
She is survived by her daughters: Darlene (Dan) Tomczak of Davison, MI; and Brenda (Gary) Randall of Elwell, MI; grandchildren: Terri Tomczak, Tracy (Kent) Fitzgerald, Amy Randall, and Clifton (Niki) Randall; great-grandchildren: Nicholas Ducharme, Dillon Ducharme, Eli Bever, Charlie Bever, Claudia Fitzgerald, and Molly Randall; brother-in-law Marion Williams, and sister-in-law Joyce Pyles. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Wanda Slagle, Deltha Williams, and Faye Lynch; and one brother Glen Pyles.
