Viola Maye Wisner, age 73, of St. Johns, MI died peacefully Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel , with Pastor Tom J. Wilson officiating. Burial will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Okemos, MI, where Pastor Mike Hargraves will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 PM. at the funeral home.
Viola was born in Corning, Arkansas on March 23, 1938, the daughter of Newt Thomas and Ruth (Phelps) Hagar. When she was 17, they moved to Michigan where she married and helped with her husband's construction business. She especially loved to spend time with friends and family. Viola was a member of Mint City Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughter Leah and Chris Deemer of Dewitt, MI, granddaughter Amanda Deemer, grandson Greg Deemer, twin sister Iola and Randel Hargraves of Corning, Arkansas, sister in law, Stella Hagar of Holt, MI, 2 nephews; Mike and Donna Hargraves, Steve and Terrie Hargraves, and 4 nieces; Dana and Keith Chanley, Debbie and Kevin Ferrell, Pam Orr, and Vicky and Michael Alspaugh. Viola was preceded in death by her parents and brother Orla Hagar.
