Violet Baker

Violet M. Baker, age 92, passed away on October 21, 2014. She was born in Ovid on March 22, 1922 the daughter of Edward L. and Anna M. (Eiserman) Anderson. She was a homemaker, formerly owned/operated Baker's Lazy B Resort in Crystal, MI, and Dol Jac Enterprises, Inc. in Ovid with her husband, Leonard "Jack" Baker, whom she married on October 13, 1937. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1999.

She is survived by her son, Dolan (Kaye) Baker of Ovid, daughter Karon Kay (Jess) Wallace of Schoolcraft, MI, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. In addition to her husband, Violet was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sandra Lambert, and four sisters, Alice Anderson, Opal Terryberry, Doris Hyde, and Helen Reichert.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid with Pastor Paul Damkoehler officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Houghton Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 232 E. Oak St., Ovid, MI 48866. Memorial donations will be made to Hospice Advantage, 801 S. Waverly Road, Suite 304, Lansing, MI 48917 or the charity of one's choice.
