Violet Sutten

Violet May Sutten, age 71, of St. Louis, MI passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at her home.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI on Sunday, November 23 at 1:00 P.M.

Violet was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on May 14, 1943, the daughter of Mose and Mary (Harris) Gilbert. Violet was a lifelong resident of St. Louis. She loved working in her yard and spending time with her family and her four legged baby Mayze. She retired from Oxford Automotive in 2002. Violet loved shopping, and getting together for the Holidays. She also enjoyed traveling, car rides to the farm and reminiscing.

She is survived by her son Chester and Kris Sutten of Cadillac, MI, daughter Sheila and Daniel Roesly of Newaygo, MI, son Herbert and Bonnie Sutten of Edmore, MI, son Rodney and Dona Sutten of Alma, MI, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, loved one Raymond Doyle of Wheeler, 5 sisters; Lucille and Leo Torpey of Swartz Creek, MI, Dorothy Billiau of Six Lakes, MI, Laura and Robert Divins of Tampa, FL, Mary Lou Gilbert of Flint, MI, Pat Barnes of Ireland, 2 brothers; Adelbert Gilbert of Alma, MI, Elmer and Betty Gilbert of Flagstaff, AZ, and stepson Chad Doyle of Breckenridge, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers.
