Virginia Hilton

Virginia Mae Hilton age 80 of Bradenton, Florida formerly of Lansing, Michigan died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Virginia was born in Elsie, Michigan on November 23, 1925 the daughter of Charles and Daisy ( Steele ) Bashore. She resided most of her life in Lansing, Michigan and in Bradenton, Florida for the last 28 years. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1943. Virginia married Vern E. Hilton in Lansing Michigan on June 14, 1947. He died on February 9, 1986. She was a homemaker and she worked with the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. She enjoyed camping, traveling, cooking, reading, and helping others. Virginia was a member of Emmanuel Methodist Church of Bradenton, Florida.

She is survived by her daughter Susan R. Hilton of Bradenton, FL, daughter-in-law Cindy Hilton of Midland, TX, brothers; Galen Bashore of Elsie, MI, Jerry Shumway of Grand Ledge, MI, Thomas Shumway of Grand Ledge, MI, Robert Shumway of Cadallac, MI, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents Charles & Daisy Bashore, husband Vern E. Hilton, and sons; Mark E. Hilton & Vern L. Hilton.

Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Methodist Church of Bradenton, Florida. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes.
