Virginia Quine

Virginia A. Quine, age 84, of Elsie, MI passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church Ovid, MI on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek and Rev. Fr. Tom Thompson officiating. Burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery Fairfield Township, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Virginia was born in Owosso, Michigan on June 26, 1930, the daughter of James Leo and Marquerite A. (Purcell) King. She graduated from Owosso High School with the class of 1947 and attended Central Michigan University for one year. On June 13, 1953 Virginia married John F. Quine at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Owosso, MI. Virginia had worked for General Telephone Co., Renown Stove Company, Mitchell Corporation, Ovid-Elsie Area Schools as a para professional, and she was a receptionist for Dr. Burkhardt in St. Johns, retiring in 2004. Virginia resided all of her life in the Ovid-Elsie area. She served on the Election Board for Fairfield Township, and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Ovid, MI.

She is survived by her husband John Quine of Elsie, MI, children; Frank and Melvia Quine of Ovid, MI, Tim and Brenda Quine of Bannister, MI, Jim and Mary Quine of Dearborn, MI, Daniel Quine of Ypsilanti, MI, Sue and Rick Rademacher of Bannister, MI, and Jerry Quine of Elsie, MI, 18 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, daughter in law Karen, and brother Charles.
