Vivian Roberta Laing, age 95, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. Minister John Robinson will officiate, and burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Alma, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 from 12:00 PM. until time of services at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.

Vivian was born in Onaway, Michigan on January 6, 1914, the daughter of Ivan Noel and Flora Belle (Brooks) Miller. She graduated from Alma High School in 1932. She resided most of her life in Alma, and was a cosmetologist for many years in the Alma area. She enjoyed knitting, and also played the piano. She enjoyed being with her family very much. She was married to Clyde Miller, and her second husband was Harry Laing. They both preceded her in death.

She is survived by 3 nieces; Jacquelin Rose of Rudyard, MI, Patricia and Norbert Bennin of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Penny and Dave Collison of Kalamazoo, MI, 2 nieces by marriage; Aggie Miller of Concord, CA, and Saundra Miller of Flushing, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, an infant brother Leslie Miller, 3 brothers; Louis Miller, Ivan Miller Jr., and George Elbert Miller, and 2 nephews; Elbert "Jim" Miller, and Frederick "Roy" Miller.
