Vivian Weir

Vivian Arlene Weir, age 87, of Ashley, Michigan formerly of Florida died Friday, April 25, 2014 at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating.

Vivian was born in Flint, Michigan on March 27, 1927, the daughter of Bethel and Pauletta (Crocker) Root. She attended Owosso High School. On May 15, 1945 Vivian married Burwell J. Reed in Ohio; he died on December 10, 1972. On January 19, 1974 she married Val Keith Weir in Florida; Val died in 1994. Vivian was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafting and playing the piano. She was a Sunday school teacher and in her younger years she was a life guard. She had resided in Florida, moving back to Michigan in 2012. She was a member of First Church of God in Florida.

She is survived by 3 daughters; Luella and Horace Bell of Deland, FL, Ann and Jerry Paksi of Ashley, MI, Pauletta and Buzz Fetters of Carson City, MI, 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Ruth Justice, and Laura and Dick Haugh, 1 brother Charlie and Shirley Root, and 2 sisters in law; Harriet Root and Mary Root. She was predeceased by her parents, 1 sister and 6 brothers.
