Walter Dale Bartlett age 87 of Wyman, MI died Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, Michigan
Funeral Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Edmore, Michigan, on Saturday, May 24th at 11:00 A. M. Pastor Charles Richardson burial at the Vinewood Cemetery, Edmore, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 6-8 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, Edmore, Michigan.
Walter was born in Oakfield, OH on March 31, 1921, the son Walter H. and Mary (Street) Bartlett. He graduated Moxahalie High School in Ohio with the class of 1939 He resided for the last 60 years in Wyman, Michigan. Walter married Beulah Faye McGee on July 16, 1941 in Corning, Ohio. She died on November 28, 2006. Walter served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. He worked for several oil fields drilling oil wells. He then established Bartlett's Water Well Service in 1964 and was active for many years before turning the business over to his sons. He loved his garden, woodworking, and taking care of his lawn. Walter also loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of Chippewa Hills Baptist Church and the VFW Sheridan Post.
He is survived by 5 children; Dale & Darla Bartlett of Edmore, MI, Faye & Steve Ross of Hillsdale, MI, Ron & Gloria Bartlett of Edmore, MI, Bev & Duane Kelley of Riverdale, MI, Rick & Sheri Bartlett of Edmore, MI, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, granddaughter Michelle Bartlett, great grandson Dustin and 1 sister Susan.
