Walter K. Cartwright passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2008.
Walt was born in Lansing to Walter J. and Frances Evelyn (Bugbee) Cartwright on February 13, 1931. Walt and Ginny (Heckert) were married on August 6, 1960, in Bancroft.
Walt was a disabled American Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from General Motors Lansing Craft Center, in 1993, as an electrician. He was a member of The First Congregational Church, UCC of Owosso.
He was the father of three sons, Wayne (Sharon), Walter D., Mark (Mary Jo), and one daughter, Mary (Jim) Farrington. He leaves four grandsons and one great grandson. Walt had three brothers, and three sisters, he is survived by Jack Cartwright, and sisters, Beverly (Lew) Jarrad, and Elinor (Ron) Darling. He also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Joyce; and brothers, Orley and John.
Cremation has taken place as he wished. There will be a Memorial Service at The First Congregational Church, UCC, 327 N. Washington St., Owosso, Michigan, on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to The First Congregational Church, UCC Music Department.
The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso.
