Wayne "Sarge" Luick, age 83, of Lansing, MI passed away Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital, Battle Creek, MI.
Visitation will be held on Friday July 9, 2010 from 2-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso with Military Honors being offered at 8:00 PM.
Sarge was born in Owosso, Michigan on November 27, 1926, the son of Julius Edward and Jenny Clare (Randall) Luick. He resided all of his life in Owosso.
Sarge served his country in the U.S. Army for 27 years serving in Europe, Vietnam ad Korea, retiring as a Staff Sergeant. He then went to work for Owosso Bolt & Brass as a delivery driver from 1969-2001. He was a member of the Oddfellows, Lifelong member of the Corunna VFW, Owosso VFW and the Merchant Marines. He loved his family, enjoyed fishing and visiting the casino.
Sarge is survived by his daughter Prudence and Joe Fisher of Texas, 2 sons; Tom and Kimberly Luick of Corunna, MI, Dwight and Cheryl Luick of Lansing, MI, 6 grandchildren; James Fisher, Joseph Fisher, Dorthea and Robert Howell, Tammy Luick, Tom Luick, Tim and Rebecca McCallum, and 6 great-grandchildren; Carissa, Jonathon, Makayla, Kallah, Joey and Maya. Sarge was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters; Emma (Lou) Loachridge and Opal (Pete) Coon, 2 brothers; Walter (Virginia) Luick and Arnold (Doris) Luick and a dear friend Marilyn Buffington.
