Wayne Mikesell

Wayne Allan Mikesell, age 84, of Ashley, Michigan died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at North Star Adult Foster Care Home.

Funeral Services will be held at Ithaca Church Of God on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M., Rev. James R. Conn and Rev. Paul Daniels will officiate. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 and on Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca Chapel Ithaca, Michigan.

Wayne was born in Washington Township, Michigan on June 20, 1926, the son of Ransom and Bessie (Frasier) Mikesell. Wayne married Phyllis Jean Bearup on December 20, 1947. She preceded him in death on December 8, 1995 after 47 years of marriage. He was a farmer and had retired from Motor Wheel. He loved hunting and fishing and farming and lived in Washington Township all of his life.

He is survived by 4 sons; Richard and Donna Mikesell of Ashley, MI, Gary and Shirley Mikesell of Frankfort, IN, Tom and Melissa Mikesell of North Salem, IN, Kevin and Sheri Mikesell of Ottawa, IL, 10 grandchildren; Scott Mikesell, Rodney Mikesell, Amber and Chris Piper, Tiffany and Kevin Roof, Chris and Angela Mikesell, Amanda and Collin Shipman, Brad and Kristin Mikesell, Stephen Mikesell, Cortney Mikesell, and Megan Mikesell, 9 great grandchildren, and his companion of 13 years Florence Cornell. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, and infant son Randy R. Mikesell.
