Wayne Taylor

Wayne Floyd Taylor, age 86, of Owosso, MI passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at First Church of Christ, Owosso, MI on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Ron Wilson will officiate. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday May 29, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Monday, May 30, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI.

Wayne was born in Westphalia, Michigan on May 22, 1925, the son of Wayne J. and Alta M. (Werth) Taylor. Wayne resided most of his life in Owosso. Wayne married Shirley Ann Olson. She passed away on November 12, 1986.

Wayne retired from Johnson Control of Owosso, working as a Tool & Die Maker. He loved hunting & fishing. Wayne was fond of WUGN Family Life Radio. He also enjoyed working in his machine shop & wood shop. Wayne was a member of the First Church of Christ, Owosso.

He is survived by his son Thomas and Linda Taylor of Reading, PA, sister-in-law Frances Olson of Bowie, Maryland, nephew Bruce Telfer of Mason, MI, niece Beth Wright of Eaton Rapids, MI, niece Elaine Bird of Watella, Illinois also many special friends and caregivers. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister Murna Telfer.
