Wendell Mizer

Wendell Dean Mizer, 87, of St. Louis, MI passed away with loving family by his side on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.

According to Wendell's wishes there will be no public services.

Wendell was born in Alma, MI on October 8, 1929 the son of Clyde T. and Maude L. (Knapp) Mizer.  He resided most of his life in the St. Louis area.

Wendell married Mary Ann (Macyowski) Mizer on August 21, 1948 in Ithaca, MI. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage.  Wendell was a truck driver for over 45 years before retirement in 1991.  He enjoyed farming, woodworking, and especially making Parcheesi boards for all of his grandchildren.  He was able to fix most anything, and loved to work in his yard.

Wendell is survived by his wife Mary Ann and 2 daughters; Wendy Fachting of St. Louis, MI and Kathy (Jim) Smith of St. Louis, MI.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; Tina (Scott) Davidson, Amy (Jeff) Hale, Tricia (Jerry) Pierce, Jill (Greg) Bott, Jeff (Sarah) Smith, Tim (Pam) Fachting, Jennifer Mizer, Jason (Heather) Fachting, Lori Mizer, Jodi (Aaron) Wenzlick, 25 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren with one on the way, sister Joyce Jellison, and many nieces and nephews.  Wendell was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Maude Mizer, son Larry Dean Mizer, great granddaughter Abigail Michelle Fachting, son-in-law Tom Fachting and brothers: Duaine and Vern.
