Willard F. "Bill" Zwick, age 91, of Ovid, MI passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel. Pastor Tabitha Sjoberg will officiate.
Bill was born in Gresham, Nebraska on June 23, 1919, the son of Henry and Elise (Menze) Zwick. On May 29, 1947 he married Violet Mills in Saginaw, Michigan; she died March 13, 1990. Willard served in the U.S. Army as a SSG in WW II. He owned and operated the Gambles Store in Ovid for 25 years. He enjoyed sports, was a Detroit Tiger and MSU Spartan fan. Bill enjoyed people, especially his grandchildren and he loved life. He resided most of his life in Ovid, Michigan moving there in 1961. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Owosso, Michigan.
He is survived by his son Timothy Zwick of Ovid, MI, 2 grandchildren; Taylor Zwick and Zane Zwick, Ovid, Michigan, nephews; Darrell Zwick of Ludington, MI, and Rodney Zwick of West Burke, VT. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife and brother Raymond.
