William "Bill" Bukovcik

      William "Bill" Bukovcik, age 92, of Henderson, MI, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso.

      Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 8, 2023.  Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

      William was born in Owosso, Michigan on December 1, 1931, the son of George and Anna (Hlozka) Bukovcik.  Bill graduated from Owosso High School with the class of 1950.  Bill married Jane Shuster Desborough on August 6, 1960; they were married at Evangelical United Brethren Church of Owosso, MI.

      Bill was a lifelong farmer, he continued to farm until 5 weeks before his passing.  During the winter months he worked in Laingsburg doing TV repair and also Montgomery Ward.  He enjoyed hunting, watching sports and trips to the casino.  He was a past 4-H leader in Shiawassee County, volunteered at the Shiawassee Fair and coached 4-H softball for many years.  Bill always looked forward to attending his sons and grandchildren's sporting events.

      He is survived by his wife Jane Bukovcik of Henderson, MI; sons: Ronald and Gina Bukovcik of Grand Ledge, MI; Daniel and Susan Bukovcik of Ovid, MI; grandchildren: Travis (Elizabeth), Karsyn (Bradley), and Gavin (Lauren); great-grandchildren: Travis Jr., Christian, Presley, Parker, and Griffin.  He is also survived by his brother Robert and Onalee Bukovcik of Emmett, Idaho; one sister Helen Stanton of Owosso, MI; and many nieces and nephews.  William was preceded in death by parents, brothers:  John, George, and Charles; and daughter-in-law Philis Bukovcik.
