William Coon

William E. Coon, age 82, of Lansing, Michigan died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Ingham Regional Medical Center, Lansing, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Herb Wheelock will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2009 from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.

William was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on June 2, 1927, the son of John and Nancy (Glover) Coon. He resided in Lansing, Michigan since 1954 and served his country in the US Navy.
William received an electrical engineering degree from Tri State University and had worked for McDonnell Douglas Corporation, and Diamond Reo. He enjoyed working on cars, and was a good father to his children.

Survivors include his 2 daughters; Dianne and Earl Long of Lansing, Michigan, Cynthia Coon of Owosso, Michigan, 2 sons; Douglas and Cheri Coon of Holt, Michigan and Stephen and Lan Coon of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, the children's mother Beverly Coon of Lansing, Michigan, 2 brothers; Harvey and Shirley Coon of Henderson, Michigan, Clifford and Judy Coon of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and 1 sister, Juanita.
