William "Bill" Dittenber age 81, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 due to complications of the Covid-19 virus. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Lilly Dittenber and brothers: Thomas Dittenber and Ted Dittenber. He is survived by his children: Scott Dittenber (Missy) and Tracy Dittenber, brother Robert Dittenber, longtime companion and friend Linda Roberson, and nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his dog Chester.

After graduating from St. Louis High School he joined the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country from 1958 to 1962 in both Japan and Korea. He was a master electrician working with the IBEW Local 665 for 27 years. He helped his family with electrical and other projects in their homes. For many years he enjoyed; being an amateur radio operator, bird watching, radio controlled helicopters, traveling with Linda, and just spending time at home on his 20 acres in the woods, watching wildlife and appreciating nature.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Nativity of the Lord Parish, Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Louis, MI on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cutler Library, St. Louis, MI 48880. Online condolences can be made at www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI.
