William Doll

William Thomas Doll, age 79, of St. Louis, MI died Monday, May 31st, 2010 at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Friday, June 4th at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Bill was born in Wheeler, Michigan on August 7, 1930, the son of Theodore and Anna (Hiel) Doll. He attended St. Louis High Schools. He was married to Joyce Lorraine (McLouth) Doll on May 8, 2006 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hemlock. Bill resided most of his life in St. Louis. He worked on Volkswagen vehicles, and was a foster parent for 25 years. He was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hemlock. Bill retired from Oxford Automotive in Alma after several years. He was a paratrooper for the U.S. Army in Alaska.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Doll of St. Louis, MI; son Tom and Lydia Doll of Virginia; son Ted and Linda Doll of Alma, MI; daughter Talesa Doll of Alma, MI;
daughter Patty Doll of Sarasota, FL; stepson Russell Perry of Stanton, MI; step son Ronald Pelton of California; step son Robert Pelton of Texas; step son William Pelton of Texas; 6 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren, sister Marlene and Lloyd Kenny of Ithaca, MI; sister Betty Wood of Freeland, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 47 years Norma Wiltse Doll in 2000, grandson William Shaw in 2003, 2 sisters Hilda Shoebottom, Rosa Belle Doll, and a stepdaughter Mona Tree in 2005.
