William Clarence Horsley, age 85, of Beaverton, MI passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Nathan's Place, Swartz Creek, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
William was born in Hardensburg, Kentucky on April 28, 1923. He was raised by the family of Jack & Alma Stinson of Owosso. He resided most of his life in Lennon and Beaverton.
William married Alta Long on June 26, 1942 in Owosso. Alta passed away September 14, 2008. William retired after 32 years in 1974 from Buick Motor Division of Flint. William was a member of the VFW #7303 Beaverton Gladwin Area. He enjoyed bowling and golfing, achieving a 'hole-in-one'. He was an assistant Boy Scout Leader in Lennon. William served his country in the US Army during WWII, serving in the Philippines.
William is survived by a daughter Carol and William Clark of Durand, MI, son LaVerne and Linda Anne Horsley of Carriere, MS, grandchildren; Daniel and Dorinda Clark of Owosso, MI, Steven Clark of Gaines, MI, Karen Horsley of Carriere, MS & Matthew Horsley of Carriere, MS, great grandchildren; Valerie Clark of Owosso, MI, Jonathan Clark of Owosso, MI & Joseph Clark of Gaines, MI and Dodie Horsley of Picayune, MS mother of Karen & Matthew Horsley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta and son, LaMonte Horsley.
