William Dale "Bill" Lewis, age 76, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Parkside Assembly of God, 302 Pine Avenue, Alma, MI 48801, at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 21, 2025, with Pastor Ryan Tice officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
Bill was born in Carson City, Michigan on July 4, 1948, the son of Delbert and Emma Jean (Barrett) Lewis. He graduated from Ithaca with the class of 1967. Bill married Linda Marie Braley on July 1, 1976, in Ithaca, MI.
Bill retired from Federal Mogul in 2007, after 28 years of service. In his earlier years, he earned the Eagle Award, the highest Honor that you can get as a Boy Scout. As he went through life, he also enjoyed spending time outdoors or in his garage, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, camping, swimming, boating, wood building, bowling, riding his motorcycle, dune buggy and jet-skiing. Bill enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Higgins Lake with family and friends. He was a jack of all trades and would DIY any project he could. He was always there to lend a helping hand. He spoiled his grandchildren with his homemade chicken nuggets and Mac & Cheese. He also enjoyed watching their activities and sporting events. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He lived life the way he wanted to, and raised a family he was proud of.
He is survived by wife Linda Lewis; his children: Jerry and Susan Lewis, Bill and Heather Lewis, Amy and Derrick Huntoon, Jamie and Dennis Hitsman, grandchildren: Brittany Lewis, Erica Lewis, Hunter Lewis, Emily Lewis, Logan Lewis, Delaney Hitsman, Brooklynn Huntoon, Brayden Huntoon, and great-grandson Easton Lewis. He is also survived by brother-in-law Dick Wingle and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Richard and Edward Lewis, his sister Sally Wingle, and granddaughter Lauren Hitsman.
