William McElhaney

Wm. Ronald McElhaney age 67 of Newberry, MI, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, June 18, 2018 with Pastor Charles Richardson officiating. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Elba Township, MI at a later date.  Visitation with family & friends will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 2-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Wm. Ronald was born in Ringgold, Georgia on February 24, 1951 the son William K. and Charlise "Polly" (Sampson) McElhaney.  Ron married Theresa Wicke on July 7, 1972 in Ithaca, MI.  He resided most of his life in the Ashley area.  Ron loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed nature.  Spending time with his family brought him great joy.  He attended the First Baptist Church of Newberry.

He is survived by his wife: Theresa McElhaney of Newberry, MI; son: David and Kristie McElhaney of Ringgold, GA; son: Wm. Roger and Kris McElhaney of Six Lakes, MI; son: Kevin and Lisa McElhaney of Farwell, MI; daughter: Denise Marshall and Brian Clark of Everet, MI; daughter: Susan McElhaney and Jimmy Frasier of Remus, MI; son: Bryan and Brooke McElhaney of Ionia, MI; 25 grandchildren: Cole, Keith, Paige, Lydia, Mari, Skyler, Hailee, Logan, Avery, Brittini, Alexis, Joslynn, Kailin, Dalton, Makenna, Jake, Josh, Justin, Devin, Maria, Tyler, Levi, Wyatt, Isaiah, and Benjamin; sister: Wanda Gilbert of Redbank, TN; sister: Sheira Goodwin of Redbank, TN; sister: Claudia and Gary Robinson of Tennessee; sister: Karen and Douglas Stoneman of Ashley, MI; sister: Renee and Samuel Weeden of Merrill, MI; sister: Brenda Laramore of Ithaca, MI; sister: Linda McElhaney of Georgia; brother: Michael and Iram McElhaney of Newberry, MI; brother: Gary McElhaney of Brant, MI; sister-in-law: Patricia Perez of Lansing, MI; sister-in-law: Sandra Boulis of Elsie, MI; sister-in-law: Donna Wicke of Haslett, MI; brother-in-law: Bruce and Lori Wicke of Brant, MI.  He is also survived by his step-mother: Dorothy McElhaney of Ashley, Michigan.  Ron was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Judy Lynn, mother-in-law Edna Wicke also father-in-law Kenneth Wicke.
