William Owen

William A. ?Bill? Owen, age 86, of Owosso, Michigan died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, Michigan on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Jerry Walden will officiate. Burial will follow at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Bill was born in Muncie, Indiana on December 13, 1924. He married the love of his life, Doris M. LaBeau on September 28, 1946. Bill worked as a millwright with Fisher Body in Grand Blanc, retiring in 1982 after 31 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local #1292 and was formerly very active in the Owosso City Council. Bill was also a member of Grace Bible Church.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Doris Owen of Owosso, MI, son William C. and Linda Owen of Niceville, FL, son Bruce E. and Marcia Owen of Swartz Creek, MI, daughter Jacqueline and James Newport of Owosso, MI, son John A. and Tonya Owen of Owosso, MI, 10 grandchildren; Jason C. Owen, Jamie and James Dolocek, Jordyn Dunne, Brent Owen, Angela Owen, Jim and Kristina Newport, Nina Owen, Justin, Andrew and Haylee Zyrowski, and 2 great grandchildren; Jacob Dunne and Ryan Newport. He was preceded in death by his parents.
