William Parker

William John Parker, age 77, of Perrinton, MI died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Elbert Dulworth will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

William was born in Muskegon, Michigan on December 16, 1932, the son of Donald Parker and Laura (Allore) Kempf. He graduated from Muskegon High School in 1949. Bill earned his Bachelors Degree in Education from Central Michigan University in 1955. He has resided in Perrinton for the last 40 years, and retired from Fulton High School in 1989 after 20 years of service. Bill taught math, science, and coached many sports throughout his career. He was a very avid woodworker and enjoyed making toys and crafts.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn Parker of Perrinton, MI, son James and Tammy Parker of Morrice, MI, daughter Julie and Gerald Downs of Lansing, MI, son Gerald and Tammy Parker of Zeeland, MI, son Richard Parker of Okemos, MI, son Joel and Jeana Parker of Laingsburg, MI, mother Laura Kempf of Muskegon, MI, sister Sally and Bob Legard of North Muskegon, MI, sister Marlene and Denny Pendell of Garden City, MI, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
