Wilson "Will" Charles Lauer, age 64, of Ithaca, MI went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 15th, 2013 at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Resurrection Life Church on Saturday, September 21st at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Rick Lopez and Pastor Dar Blanshan will officiate. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery in North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and Friday from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.

Will was born in Alma, Michigan on January 7, 1949, the son of Joseph Charles and Marion Evelyn (House) Lauer. He was a graduate of Ithaca High School, class of 1967, and earned his Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanics from Ferris State College in 1970. He married his high school sweetheart Connie Lake on June 14, 1969 in Ithaca, MI. Will was a lifelong resident and farmer. He was well known in the community for his integrity and generosity, and served as a beloved father figure to many. He deeply loved God and his family, and lived by the motto "love people, use things". He thoroughly enjoyed his John Deere equipment and red Corvette, but found true happiness when sharing them with others. Will felt very blessed to be able to raise his family on the farm. He was a strong and skilled leader serving as a Board Member on many local organizations including Gratiot County Farm Bureau, Greater Gratiot Development, Ithaca Public Schools, North Star Township, Isabella Bank & Trust for the Breckenridge & Mt. Pleasant office and the Isabella Bank & Trust Corporate Board. He was a member of Resurrection Life Church St. Louis, and served as an elder and board member. He was also a board member of Victory Christian Center in Mt. Pleasant.

He is survived by his wife Connie Lauer of Ithaca, MI; 3 daughters, Amy and Kirk Walker of Ithaca, MI; Jill and John Hardman of Ithaca, MI; Brooke and Mark Stahl of Dayton, OH; 7 grandchildren, Holly and Breven Walker, Brock and Ellie Hardman, and Ian, Noah, and Caleb Stahl; sister Marsha and Glenn Beck of Ithaca, MI; brother Jon and Carol Lauer of Ithaca, MI; in laws Nancy and David Harger of Ithaca, MI; Ann and Mike Hirschman of Ithaca, MI; Dennis and Marta Lake of Ithaca, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and parents in law Leroy and Paula Lake.
