Woodrow Upton

Woodrow W. Upton, died April 27, 2010, at the age of 95. Born on January 13, 1915, in Essex Twp., the son of Joseph and Rose (Stead) Upton. Woodrow married Virginia Clark on January 20, 1948 in St. Johns and she preceded him in death on August 24, 1993. Woodrow was a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

He is survived by his daughter, Anna (Dan) Glinke; sons, Roy Upton, Vic (Connie) Upton and Mike (Dena) Upton; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Along with his wife , Woodrow was preceded in death by his parents, son John, great grandson Braydon; sisters, brothers and a step sister.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 30, 2010, at the Abbott Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 509 E. Main St., Maple Rapids, with Pastor Kathy Leydorf officiating, burial to follow at Sowle Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m., on Thursday.

Contributions may be made in memory of Woodrow to the Great lakes Hospice or a Charity of the Donor's Choice. Family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
