Zane David Salinas

       Zane David Salinas (Zane Thompson), age 21, passed away on August 16, 2023, in Marion Springs, MI.

       Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

       Zane was born in Owosso, MI, on May 21, 2002, to Tara Thompson. He was bright light in a very dark world.  He was a son, a father, a big brother, a nephew, a best friend, a first love, and he had never met a stranger.

       Zane loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family around a bonfire, but also was content to sit inside and watch a movie with the people he loved. Despite being raised in the city, Zane was purely an "out in the country" kind of man. 

     He is survived by his mother Tara Thompson (Jeffrey Perry) of St. Louis, MI; his son Silas James Poe of Saginaw, MI; his sister Christina Salinas of St. Charles, MI; his brothers: Tristan Thompson of St. Louis, MI; Niklas Salinas of Saginaw, MI; Lazaro (Nemo) Salinas of Saginaw, MI; his grandmother Christina Erickson of Lansing, MI; and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Zane is met in death by his adoptive parents Lazaro and Irene Salinas, his grandfather David Thompson, his uncle Gary McElhaney, and his great-grandparents: David and Ethel Thompson, and Carolyn Erickson.
